SALT LAKE CITY

SkyShare announces FAA approval of its Safety Management System (SMS) nearly one year ahead of the compliance deadline.

SkyShare, a leading provider of private aviation services and one of the fastest growing aviation companies in the western United States, today announced FAA approval (Declaration of Compliance) of its Safety Management System (SMS) under 14 CFR Part 5 SMS, achieved nearly one year ahead of the FAA’s compliance deadline for Part 135 operators. This milestone underscores the company’s ongoing commitment to operational excellence, proactive risk management, and continuous safety improvement.

SkyShare’s Safety Management System continues to mature through a dependable Safety Reporting System, a comprehensive Internal Evaluation Program, ongoing safety education, and disciplined risk management. Together, these elements create multiple layers of oversight that identify opportunities for improvement, validate operational effectiveness, and reinforce a culture of continuous learning, operational excellence, and adherence to industry best practices.

SkyShare’s Executive Leadership Team is committed to fostering a culture where operational safety is the organization’s highest priority. Through the principles of Just Culture, leadership supports an environment in which employees are expected and empowered to identify hazards, report safety concerns, and share lessons learned.

“Our Safety Management System succeeds because it belongs to the entire organization,” said Ricky Lee, Director of Safety for SkyShare. “Operational safety is achieved through collaboration, open communication, and a shared commitment to continuous improvement. Every department and every employee has a role in identifying risk, learning from experience, and strengthening the systems that protect our customers, our crews, and one another. FAA acceptance of our SMS is a reflection of that collective commitment.”

In addition to its aircraft operations, SkyShare owns and operates fixed base operations at Salt Lake City South Valley Regional Airport (SVR) and Gnoss Field Airport (DVO) in Marin County, California. Headquartered at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC), the company also maintains operational bases in Ogden, Utah, supporting its growing charter, management, and fractional ownership operations throughout the western United States. SkyShare’s integrated platform includes aircraft ownership solutions, charter services, aircraft management, maintenance, and FBO operations, allowing the company to deliver a seamless private aviation experience for clients nationwide.
